Blurb of WIP for AW Nov-Blog-Roll

Howdy,

Here's a very short blurb for my NaNoWriMo WIP that I'm posting per this month's Absolute Write blog -or-rama:

Hotshot American lawyer Morgan Fitzgerald is blindsided by her friend’s untimely death, and then shocked at the news Martina left her one and only daughter – to her. She has no room in her life for a child, and even less for the tall, dark and so very handsome Edoardo Castilletti. The Count stirs her blood in more ways than one, and soon she’s questioning whether what happens in Italy ever stays in Italy.

Edoardo Castilletti will do anything to protect his eight-year-old niece, even if it means sticking to his sister’s crazy plan. But seeing Morgan again rekindles a passion that won’t wait and he’ll do everything a good Sicilian man would do to protect her. Even if it means he has to tell her the truth. Well....maybe.

See what kind of stuff comes out of my brain? See what I deal with?

Later,

The Sicilian's Hotshot Mistress? It sounds like a Harlequin Presents novel. I sense many punishing kisses in Morgan's future, lol!

Good luck with this!

I'm so ready for another romance, especially a more modern day one. I picked a Harlequin up for a dollar at the flea market and didn't realize it was published over 30 years ago.

While I was reading it, I was thinking how corny and stupid, that's not how people are! :D Then someone told me it was published in 1984. lol

Ouch! Hot enough to burn your fingertips of one would try to pick it up at the bookstore.

But then again, what would I know, I'm not one to pick fruit in that neck of the woods.

;)

Diane those HQ Presents are pretty funny. I've read more than my share of those. Doh! I can see how it would be corny though - the guys are such asshats and the women are .... well...

Bratty - when I'm in the mood for a Harlequin Presents absolutely nothing else will do.

I have a feeling this is more than your average romance story. There's a lot of subliminal steam here. I need a cold shower now ;)

I'm not the target audience for a Harlequin, but from what I know of the genre this is a pretty good blurb.

My one quibble: kids aren't "left" in wills like grandfather clocks. Your MC would have become her guardian, either after being designated as such or through virtue of being next of kin.

orion - yes I think you are right. I could have phrased that better! Being I have no kids, I'm also sort of an idiot about those things. :p

Ah, I like this. Romance, conflict, secrets, and a touch of humor.

Love a good HQ Presents, she said running a finger fondling along the spines of 4 Mills & Boons on her desk. I'd maybe like to know who the Count is a leetle sooner than deep into paragraph 2.
